What You’ll Be Doing:
- In the Associate Substation Engineer’s first six months, he/she will be fully engaged with one to two of our key clients to learn everything about their day-to-day business, their needs, and building a strong working relationship. This initial engagement will be the steppingstone to growing these clients within the company and expanding into new clients
- Collaborate with engineers and other drafters to correct discrepancies in drawings and designs
- The Associate Substation Engineer will need to work closely with the Project Engineer(s) and Management to ensure technical deliverables are completed in a timely manner and always strive to exceed client expectations
- Substation protection and control engineering:
- Drawing development consisting of one-lines, relay functionals, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, RTU/DFR/annunciator schematics, IRIG-B schematics, panel front views, control house layouts, wiring diagrams, and bill of materials
- Substation physical engineering (aka, outdoor electrical):
- Drawing development consisting of substation equipment plans/arrangements, bus spacing, sections, elevations, conduit, grounding, fencing, lighting, shielding, and bill of materials
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Design experience using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or related tools
- A Professional Engineer certification is not required for this position but on the path to licensure is desirable.
