ExecuPOWER Participates in Delmarva Power's Clays for Conservation Fundraiser on November 1, 2019

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (November 1, 2019) – ExecuPOWER's Joe Bailey (Manager, Construction Management), Nick Cantagallo (Regional Supervisor), and Jeff Wanner (Lead Designer) participated in Delmarva Power's Clays for Conservation Fundraising Event on Friday, November 1 at The Point at Pintail in Queenstown, Maryland. Members of the electric utility industry enjoyed a day of clay target shooting, silent auction, raffles, dinner, and more with friends and colleagues while helping to raise money for a great cause – The National Wild Turkey Federation. ExecuPOWER Employees Give Back This Thanksgiving

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (November 15, 2018) — ExecuPOWER employees organized a food drive in their effort to give back to the community this Thanksgiving season. Each employee supported the cause by supplying turkeys, canned goods, potatoes, and many other food items. The recipient of their generous donations was the Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission in Philadelphia, which is a men’s shelter that also provides three meals every day to anyone in need. ExecuPOWER is already organizing another food drive for this wonderful mission which also offers the following programs: Men’s Recovery Program, Women’s Transitional Housing Program, and a Suburban Outreach Program.

Council (WBENC)

ExecuPOWER Engineer Speaks to Disadvantaged Minority High School Seniors in New Jersey

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (February 26, 2018) — ExecuPOWER Senior Project Manager, Keicha Muriel-Barreto, P.E., spoke to a group of disadvantaged/minority high school seniors at the Rutgers Future Scholars (RFS) Program in Camden on February 26, 2018. RFS offers first-generation, low-income, academically promising middle school students from certain areas of New Jersey the opportunity for a college education. The goal of the program is to help these students stay in school, graduate from high school, and gain admission to Rutgers or another college of their choice. As part of the program each year, RFS holds a Career Exploration Night in which professionals from the community speak to the students about their careers in math, science, technology, and engineering.

During Keicha’s presentation, she described her job as a Professional Engineer and the types of projects she works on from day to day. She also discussed what college was like for her and emphasized the importance of perseverance, hard work, and overcoming obstacles regardless of your background.

Since it’s inception in 2006, ACE has raised more than $1.8 million for local nonprofits in South Jersey. KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (July 15, 2019) – ExecuPOWER’s CEO, Maria Larson; COO, Andrea Turley; and Corporate Strategy Advisor, Bob Jubic attended the 2019 EEI Business Diversity Conference in Nashville, July 9 – 11. At this year’s meeting, during the Supply Chain Session, industry leaders discussed a broad range of issues pertaining to electric company supply chains, including supplier diversity trends, opportunities for small businesses, and the importance of building relationships with diverse suppliers and its impact on business development. "We are all working towards a cleaner energy model and we see great opportunities for our diverse strategic partners," said Marlon Merritt, Director Capital Projects Procurement, Entergy. Maria Jenks, Vice President, Supply Chain at KCPL, said "We are riding the wave of technology and it is having a positive effect on our supply chain. We are looking for diverse suppliers to help us serve our customers better with even better technology."

 

Other sessions included, Smart Communities and Access to Capital. Additionally, the annual Exhibitors Showcase and Matchmaking Event were again great ways for attendees to meet with key decision makers and maintain industry relationships. Thursday’s events ended with the 2019 Business Diversity Awards. Presented annually, the awards recognize companies for their outstanding efforts in advancing purchasing opportunities for diverse suppliers, including minority-, women-, veteran-, and LGBTQ-owned businesses within the investor-owned electric power industry.

 

DTE earned the industry’s overall Excellence Award for its dedication to partnering with women- and minority-owned businesses, strengthening the local economy. San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) received EEI’s Innovation Award, which recognizes a company that promotes business diversity by any new approach through technology, software, project management, or outreach efforts that result in increased business development of its suppliers or if its efforts make a substantial economic impact. Engineered Solutions, Inc. (ESI) received EEI’s Diverse Business Award, which is given to a company that displays support of business diversity through development initiatives. And the Prime Supplier Leadership Award was presented to Phillips and Jordan, Incorporated (P&J), a civil and infrastructure contractor based in Knoxville, Tenn., that is a certified woman-owned business.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (April 29, 2019) – ExecuPOWER proudly supported PHI’s Inaugural E-MAC Bomb Squad Golf Tournament Dinner benefiting the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Warrior Foundation at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Delaware, on

April 29.  EMAC (Exelon – Militaries Actively Connected) is Exelon’s employee resource group that supports veteran employees.

 

EOD technicians are highly trained military members serving in the Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force who are responsible for disarming, rendering safe, and disposing of bombs. The EOD profession is one of the most dangerous occupations. Recovery and rehabilitation from these injuries can be extensive and require months and sometimes years of inpatient and outpatient care and has a significant emotional and financial impact on the injured EOD warriors and their families.

 

The Inaugural E-MAC Bomb Squad Golf Tournament raised more than $100,000 for this great cause.
